Gender Balance in Financial Education
the project
The project aims to reduce the gender gap in financial education, with a specific focus on women facing disadvantages or specific challenges. Through financial education programs and support, it aims to provide them with the necessary skills to independently manage their financial resources. Additionally, it recognizes the importance of addressing the broader issue of domestic violence, often rooted in the lack of financial control within family dynamics. Therefore, the project seeks to contribute not only to increased financial literacy but also to a safer and fairer environment within families.

the target
- Women who, regardless of age, work in professions or occupations in economic sectors characterized by a pronounced gender employment gap and have been without regular paid employment for at least six months.
- Women suffering from addictions (drugs, alcohol, and gambling etc.).
- Not included women (e.g. immigrant women not yet integrated into the community, single mothers).
- Women with a low educational profile who are not working or work in precarious working contexts.
The target group perfectly reflects the inclusion and re-skilling objectives of the project, which presents complex personal situations such as, for example, widows or young women wishing to embark on a path independent of the family.
Approximately 40 disadvantaged women from each country are expected to be involved in answering the questionnaires, and a minimum of 50 women in the virtual training offered by the basic financial education course

β¨ Euro Education Bulgaria plays a vital role in the Gender Balance in Financial Education (GBFE) project by contributing to the creation of video tutorials on essential topics such as financial management πΈ, family budgeting π , and banking relationships π¦. During the project meeting in Plovdiv π§π¬, Marinela Yordanova explained how Euro Education Bulgaria will ensure that the video tutorials reach all participants across different countries by translating the content into their native languages π, to make sure everyone can understand and apply the lessons learned.
EEB and its partners aim to engage 40 disadvantaged women by offering videos for both online and in-person lessons π₯. Marinela emphasised the importance of this project not only for Bulgaria but for all of Europe πͺπΊ, given the pressing need to improve womenβs financial skills.
